As of 6:15 a.m., with 78.55 percent of the total number of election return transmitted to the National Canvassing Center, Aquino has so far received 12,233,002 (40.19 percent) votes, Comelec Chairman Jose Melo announced.
Former President Joseph Estrada is second with 7,749,597 (25.46 percent), followed by Senator Manny Villar with 4,329, 215 (14.22 percent).
Lakas-Kampi’s Gilberto Teodoro has 3,243,688 (10.65 percent); Bangon Pilipinas’ Eddie Villanueva with 916,543 (3.01 percent).
Bagumbayan’s Richard Gordon placed sixth with 431,954 (1.41); independent candidate Nicanor Perlas with 42,205 (0.13 percent); Senator Jamby Madrigal with 37,119 (0.12 percent); and JC Delos Reyes with 34,833 (.11 percent).
