Emilio Gonzalez III dismissed over Manila hostage crisis

President Benigno Aquino III has dismissed Deputy Ombudsman Emilio Gonzalez III over handling of the case against hostage-taker former Police Senior Inspector Rolando Mendoza, a statement from the Executive Secretary said Friday.

The decision came from a recommendation of Palace lawyers who reviewed the findings of the Incident Investigation and Review Committee(IIRC), the statement said.

3 Filipinos were excuted in China

Confirmed 3 Filipinos were executed in China. 

Ramon Credo, Sally Ordinario-Villanueva, and Elizabeth Batain were executed through lethal injections. This is really a sad news to every Filipino. Especially on the part of the families of the 3 overseas workers.



Vice President Jejomar Binay confirmed that the three Filipinos found guilty of drug trafficking were  executed in China on Wednesday.

Female broadcaster killed in Philippines

Another sad story happened in Philippines, a female radio news anchor was shot and killed. The incident happened last Thursday (March 24) morning. Read the full report below:

Manila (Philippine Daily Inquirer/ANN) - A lone gunman shot and killed a radio news anchor with a single bullet fired to the back of the head. He then picked up the spent shell and walked away calmly, police said.
Marlina 'Len' Flores-Sumera, 45, of radio station dzME's 'Arangkada 1530' in, was killed a few meters away from her home on Silonian Street at Barangay Maysilo in Malabon City in the Philippines, as she was about to board a jeepney on her way to work Thursday (March 24) morning.
Supt. Rio Gatacillo, Northern Police District public information chief, said the bullet entered Sumera's nape and exited through her eye.

Philippines under tsunami alert

Japan was struck by a major tsunami. It was about  13- foot (4-meter) tsunami that destroys or swept boats, cars and a lot of buildings were blown away by the big waves. Tsunami occurred after an 8.9 earthquake that slammed Japan's eastern coast this Friday, March 11, 2011. 

Hence, the neighboring country like Philippines made their announcement of tsunami alert in the country. 

There are about 19 provinces in the Philippines are under tsunami alert!

TOKYO – A magnitude 8.9 earthquake slammed Japan's eastern coast Friday, unleashing a 13-foot (4-meter) tsunami that swept boats, cars, buildings and tons of debris miles inland. Fires triggered by the quake burned out of control up and down the coast, including one at an oil refinery.
