Motorola's unviels Karma QA1 Phone
Motorola's Karma QA1 slider phone aims squarely at social networking butterflies, allowing them to flit between Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and other services with a minimum of keystrokes.
The compact 3G/quad-band GSM phone, available today from AT&T Wireless ($79 after rebate with two-year plan), measures 3.5 by 2.5 inches and has a two-megapixel digital camera/camcorder with 8X digital zoom and an assisted GPS (aGPS) receiver. A stubby, but serviceable QWERTY keypad slides down from behind a 2.5-inch QVGA display.
The glass faceplate (as opposed to lighter plastic) gives the unit a small bit of heft and a solid feel, but at 5 ounces, the unit is lightweight. Large home screen icons identify the social networking services, which are accessed via a large mouse button, while the QWERTY keyboard is large enough for comfortable thumb typing. The phone keypad is embedded on the left side of the QWERTY array.
Multimedia features include large speakers, a digital music player capable of playing back RealAudio files, streaming video support, and a microSD slot for removable media with capacities of up to 16GB. Also included is the AT&T Navigator turn-by-turn street navigation application.
Text messages are stored in conversation format, making it easy to keep up with the thread of a series of messages and the camera and camcorder can be used to upload content to social media service.

Michael Jackson "King of Pop" Dies at Age 50
Michael Jackson, the sensationally gifted child star who rose to become the "King of Pop" and the biggest celebrity in the world only to fall from his throne in a freakish series of scandals, died Thursday. He was 50. Jackson died at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. Ed Winter, the assistant chief coroner for Los Angeles County, confirmed his office had been notified of the death and would handle the investigation.
The circumstances of Jackson's death were not immediately clear. Jackson was not breathing when Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to a call at his Los Angeles home about 12:30 p.m., Capt. Steve Ruda told the Los Angeles Times. The paramedics performed CPR and took him to the hospital, Ruda told the newspaper.
Jackson's death brought a tragic end to a long, bizarre, sometimes farcical decline from his peak in the 1980s, when he was popular music's premier all-around performer, a uniter of black and white music who shattered the race barrier on MTV, dominated the charts and dazzled even more on stage.
His 1982 album "Thriller" — which included the blockbuster hits "Beat It," "Billie Jean" and "Thriller" — is the best-selling album of all time, with an estimated 50 million copies sold worldwide.
The public first knew him in the late 1960s, when as a boy he was the precocious, spinning lead singer of the Jackson 5, the music group he formed with his four older brothers. Among their No. 1 hits were "I Want You Back," "ABC," and "I'll Be There."
He was perhaps the most exciting performer of his generation, known for his feverish, crotch-grabbing dance moves and his high-pitched voice punctuated with squeals and titters. His single sequined glove, tight, military-style jacket and aviator sunglasses were trademarks second only to his ever-changing, surgically altered appearance.
"For Michael to be taken away from us so suddenly at such a young age, I just don't have the words," said Quincy Jones, who produced "Thriller." "He was the consummate entertainer and his contributions and legacy will be felt upon the world forever. I've lost my little brother today, and part of my soul has gone with him."
Jackson ranked alongside Elvis Presley and the Beatles as the biggest pop sensations of all time. He united two of music's biggest names when he was briefly married to Presley's daughter, Lisa Marie, and Jackson's death immediately evoked that of Presley himself, who died at age 42 in 1977.
As years went by, Jackson became an increasingly freakish figure — a middle-aged man-child weirdly out of touch with grown-up life. His skin became lighter, his nose narrower, and he spoke in a breathy, girlish voice. He surrounded himself with children at his Neverland ranch, often wore a germ mask while traveling and kept a pet chimpanzee named Bubbles as one of his closest companions.
"It seemed to me that his internal essence was at war with the norms of the world. It's as if he was trying to defy gravity," said Michael Levine, a Hollywood publicist who represented Jackson in the early 1990s. He called Jackson a "disciple of P.T. Barnum" and said the star appeared fragile at the time but was "much more cunning and shrewd about the industry than anyone knew."
Jackson caused a furor in 2002 when he playfully dangled his infant son, Prince Michael II, over a hotel balcony in Berlin while a throng of fans watched from below.
In 2005, he was cleared of charges he molested a 13-year-old cancer survivor at Neverland in 2003. He had been accused of plying the boy with alcohol and groping him, and of engaging in strange and inappropriate behavior with other children.
The case followed years of rumors about Jackson and young boys. In a TV documentary, he had acknowledged sharing his bed with children, a practice he described as sweet and not at all sexual.
Despite the acquittal, the lurid allegations that came out in court took a fearsome toll on his career and image, and he fell into serious financial trouble.
Jackson was preparing for what was to be his greatest comeback: He was scheduled for an unprecedented 50 shows at a London arena, with the first set for July 13. He was in rehearsals in Los Angeles for the concert, an extravaganza that was to capture the classic Jackson magic: showstopping dance moves, elaborate staging and throbbing dance beats.
Singer Dionne Warwick said: "Michael was a friend and undoubtedly one of the world's greatest entertainers that I fortunately had the pleasure of working with. ... We have lost an icon in our industry."
Hundreds of people gathered outside the hospital as word of his death spread. The emergency entrance at the UCLA Medical Center, which is near Jackson's rented home, was roped off with police tape.
"Ladies and gentlemen, Michael Jackson has just died," a woman boarding a Manhattan bus called out, shortly after the news was announced. Immediately many riders reached for their cell phones.
So many people wanted to verify the early reports of Jackson's death that the computers running Google's news section interpreted the fusillade of "Michael Jackson" requests as an automated attack for about half an hour Thursday evening.
In New York's Times Square, a low groan went up in the crowd when a screen flashed that Jackson had died, and people began relaying the news to friends by cell phone.
"No joke. King of Pop is no more. Wow," Michael Harris, 36, of New York City, read from a text message a friend sent to his telephone. "It's like when Kennedy was assassinated. I will always remember being in Times Square when Michael Jackson died."

Manny Pacquiao in Forbes Magazine
Here's an article from Forbes Magazine about the highest paid athletes this 2009.
The First one in the list is no other than Tiger Woods - The world's top golfer made $110 million during the past 12 months and is the best paid sportsman for the eighth straight year.
Our list of the highest-paid athletes looks at earnings derived from salaries, bonuses, prize money, endorsements and licensing income between June 2008 and June 2009 and does not deduct for taxes or agents' fees. Overall, the top 20 earned $789 million, down 1% from last year. The cutoff to make the list was $30 million.
Drop-offs from last year include boxer Floyd Mayweather (has not fought since December 2007), NFL players Ben Roethlisberger and Dwight Freeney (both made the 2008 list after inking contracts with big signing bonuses) and Formula One driver Fernando Alonso (just missed the cut).
The highest-ranking of the four newcomers to the list is boxer Manny Pacquiao who earned $40 million over the last year, tied for the sixth most. Pacquiao cemented his claim as the world's best pound-for-pound fighter with convincing knockouts of Oscar De La Hoya in December and Ricky Hatton in May. The two blockbuster fights garnered more than 2 million pay-per-view buys in the U.S. and earned Pac-Man $30 million combined.
Pacquiao's massive popularity in his native Philippines is why companies like Nike and San Miguel beer have signed him to endorse their products. Pacquiao intends to use that popularity to run for political office when his ring career is over.

BlackBerry Tour vs Nokia E72
New business-oriented smart phones are about to the hit store shelves: The latest in Nokia's line of business phones, the E72, and the long-rumoured BlackBerry Tour 9630.
Both phones will be on the market later on this year, with the BlackBerry 9630 available this summer on Sprint and Verizon, while the Nokia E72 will be available in the third quarter. Here's a head-to head comparison of these brand new business phones.
For a full rundown on the specifications of both phones:
And read on for an outline of the main pros and cons of the BlackBerry Tour 9630 and the E72.
In terms of appearance, the E72 and the Tour 9630 look quite similar. The BlackBerry Tour 9630 is slightly wider and thicker than the metal-encased E72, and both phones weigh just over 4.5 ounces.
Both business smart phones feature a 2.4-inch display, but the BlackBerry Tour is the hands-down winner in this category, with a brighter and crisper display, packing more pixels per inch than the E72 (see chart for resolutions).
The Tour 9630 features the now famous BlackBerry QWERTY keyboard, but Nokia is also catching up in this department; the E72 has a roomy keyboard inherited from the previous model, the E71.
When it comes to navigating the devie, the BlackBerry uses the trackball found on previous models. But the E72 brings something new to the table: an optical trackpad, which, judging by this demonstration video, looks easy to use. For a new user, either navigation solution will take some getting used to, so this comes down to personal preference.
As for connectivity, the Nokia E72 looks like a good all-rounder, with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and an Infrared port. The BlackBerry Tour features Bluetooth as well, (with A2DP) but is somehow lacking Wi-Fi (just like the much-derided BlackBerry Storm). My colleague Ginny Mies talks more about this here. The E72 also features an FM radio, which the Tour doesn't.
The camera is yet another major differentiation point between the E71 and the Tour. The Nokia device features a 5-megapixel camera and a secondary camera for video calls, while the BlackBerry Tour has a 3.2-megapixel camera. Both cameras have autofocus, flash, and video recording capabilities.
Both the E72 and the Tour 9630 feature built-in GPS, which is used for navigation and for geotagging pictures taken with the phones. However, Nokia added to the E72 an electronic compass, for an improved navigation experience.
Lastly, both devices come with an application store: Nokia has its brand-new Ovi Store while Research in Motion launched the BlackBerry App World a few months ago. Both app stores are relatively young, but are offering more new and useful apps regularly, so I would call a tie in this department.
Of course, this is just a rundown through the devices based on the specifications released by the manufacturers so far. When both devices become available, we will put them through some extensive tests and report back to you as usual.

Pacquiao awarded as 2008 Fighter of the Year
Manny Pacquiao was honored by the US writers as 2008 Fighter of the Year, he received the award Friday evening in New York, will join the ranks of Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, Sugar Ray Leonard and Evander Holyfield if he continues to shine in 2009.
This is again another Historical Event for Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao, it is such a big achievement in his boxing career which I'm sure that all Filipinos are truly proud of, He gave honor to his country "Philippines" with all his victories that all Filipinos have witness and for that they called Pacquiao as "Pambansang Kamao" which means "National Fist"

Miss California USA Prejean Ousted
"The Miss California USA Organization, in conjunction with the Miss Universe Organization and with the blessing of its owner, Mr. Donald J. Trump, announced today the termination of Carrie Prejean as Miss California USA 2009, citing continued breach of contract issues," the Miss California Organization said in a
statement to Access Hollywood.
The group kicked the controversial beauty queen from her post due to "contract violations including Ms. Prejean's unwillingness to make appearances on behalf of the Miss California USA organization," the pageant's Executive Director, Keith Lewis, said in a statement.
Last month, Trump decided that Prejean would be allowed to keep her crown despite racy photos of the 22-year-old surfacing on the Internet. But Lewis claims that in the weeks that followed, the beauty queen did not step up to the plate.

Grand Slam Federer storms to French Open glory
Swiss Roger Federer returns a ball to Swedish player Robin Soderling during their French Open men's final match at Roland Garros Stadium in Paris. Federer gloriously completed a career Grand Slam by capturing a record-equalling 14th major with a 6-1, 7-6 (7/1), 6-4 win over Soderling in the French Open final.
PARIS (AFP) - – Roger Federer gloriously completed a career Grand Slam on Sunday by capturing a record-equalling 14th major with a 6-1, 7-6 (7/1), 6-4 win over Robin Soderling in the French Open final.
The 27-year-old world number two finally won a Roland Garros crown at the 11th attempt and in his fourth successive final having come up heartbreakingly short in the last three showdowns against Spanish nemesis Rafael Nadal.
His victory, ironically over the Swedish 23rd seed who shocked four-time Nadal in the last 16, took him level with great friend Pete Sampras as the holder of 14 Grand Slam titles.
He also moved into a select group made up only of Fred Perry, Don Budge, Rod Laver, Roy Emerson and Andre Agassi as men who have won all four of the Grand Slam events.
"It was probably my greatest victory, I was under big pressure. I did it and it's phenomenal," said Federer who broke down in tears after being presented with the trophy by Agassi, the 1999 champion, and while the Swiss national anthem was played.
Soderling, who has now lost 10 times in 10 meetings with Federer, admitted the Swiss was a deserving winner.
"Roger was too good for me today, he played much better. He is a worthy winner and for me he is the best player in history," said Soderling.
"He gave me a lesson in how to play tennis."
Any doubts over Federer's ability to overcome his Paris jinx were quickly dashed as the Swiss star, playing in a record-equalling 19th Grand Slam final and riding a tidal wave of support, dominated Soderling.
He broke the first game on a Soderling double fault and was soon a second break to the good to lead 4-0 when a sweetly-timed drop shot left the Swede stranded behind the baseline.
Soderling, the first Swede in the Roland Garros final since his coach Magnus Norman finished runner-up to Gustavo Kuerten in 2000, stopped the rot with a hold to trail 4-1, but Federer quickly nipped further ahead to 5-1.
Soderling's uncompromising forehand, which was a dagger to the heart of Nadal, was looking more like a blunt instrument in the damp and chilly conditions.
His service game crumbled again in the seventh game as Federer claimed the opening set.
It had taken just 23 minutes with the Swiss losing just two points on serve.
The final was then delayed by a worrying security breach during the fourth game of the second set with Federer ahead 2-1.
A spectator, dressed in red, waved a flag of the Barcelona football club in the world number two's face before he was wrestled off Court Philippe Chatrier by security guards.
But the Swiss star wasn't disrupted from his elegant stride, either by the intruder or the rain which started to steadily fall.
Although Soderling slowly rediscovered his service power, it was Federer who was comfortably dictating the points and he fired down four aces in the tie-break to open up a two-sets lead.
He was a break ahead in the third set to lead 1-0 before Soderling carved out, and squandered, his first break point of the match in the fourth game.
Federer then sent down his 16th ace of the tie to stretch to 4-2.
He came out to serve for a place in history but faltered to 30-40 with a wild, running forehand.
With pregnant wife Mirka looking anxiously on, he averted the crisis and went to match point with a confident volley and claimed victory when Soderling netted a service return after 1hr 55min on court.
Federer slumped to the Paris clay in celebration and in tears as he secured his place as arguably the greatest player of all time.

Asus Unveils Stylish Eee PC Laptops, Desktops, and Some Surprises
New thin-and-light laptops, touchscreen all-in-one PCs, and superslim displays are among the hot gear Asus showed off at Computex this week. We take a closer look.
11.6-inch 'Seashell' Eee PC Netbook
Asus continues to throw the Eee spaghetti against the wall to see what sticks--and for the most part, that's not a bad thing.
First up in our coverage: an upate to the company's Seashell-inspired Eee PC series. The 10.1-inch Eee PC 1008HA and Eee PC 1005HA Seashell models are quite recent, and now the company has unveiled a new model equipped with an 11.6-inch screen. Asus says that the 1101HA's Z520 or Z530 Menlow processor helps it achieve about 11 hours of battery life, but the new system is unlikely to keep pace with Seashell models that use Atom N270/N280 chips. Other specs include 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard disk, and possibly the option of either a 9.5-hour or an 11-hour six-cell battery. No word yet on pricing or availability in the United States.
Asus also unveiled the 1101HGO and 1005HGO, essentially the same models as above but with integrated WiMax or 3G networking. One of the tech staffers at the booth suggested that Asus might be working with AT&T on certification for the latter.

Sony Ericsson plans to make all phones green
Check out right what's hot in Sony Ericson? I've read an article at www.cnet.news.com
that Sony Ericoson plans to make all their phones green.
Here's the full story..
Swedish-Japanese phone maker Sony Ericsson on Thursday announced targets for reducing CO2 emissions.
The initiative, part of its pre-existing GreenHeart program launched in September 2008, is intended to reduce emissions by 20 percent across internal operations and by 15 percent over the full life cycle of its products by 2015.
Sony Ericsson plans to roll its green strategy into its entire portfolio over time, which is different from focusing on individual green products, such as Nokia's Green 3110 or Motorola's Renew W233.
"We would rather have mainstream models that we sell in large quantities than one particular green model," Jon Mulder, who heads the company's product marketing in North America, told CNET News. "Our customers should first and foremost be able to buy a great phone, and--by the way--find that it's a green phone, too".
One of three new products launching under Sony Ericsson's GreenHeart program is the C901, shown here.
Methods for cutting emissions include providing e-manuals for products to reduce paper usage, and using smaller packaging to decrease the transport-related CO2 footprint, recycled plastics, low-power chargers, and water-based paint that uses local water in the manufacturing process.
Sony Ericsson is launching three products initially: the C901 GreenHeart, a new version of the Cybershot phone C901; Naite, a basic GSM and 3G phone; and the MH300 GreenHeart headset.
Sony Ericsson's approach is pragmatic and low profile, Mulder said. There will be no GreenHeart logo on the hardware, only indications in some of the software.
Sony Ericsson was ranked No. 3 out of 17 manufacturers of electronics in Greenpeace's latest version of its Guide to Greener Electronics from March 2009, earning 5.7 out of 10 maximum points.
The company slipped from its No. 1 position with 5.1 points in June 2008.

The newest Sims 3, Now with 100% Cleaner Pools
I'm sure a lot of people, especially those games fanatic knows about the Sims Computer Games Series. I, myself have even tried to play Sims Game and it's really exciting. When you play it improves your analytic skills or strategic ability.
Hence, we have a good news from the creator of Sims because this time they have brought something new for us to have the best gaming experience and surely you will appreciate the ambiance of the newest Sims 3.
It's shiny, sexy, and perplexingly emerald-green, but more than anything, The Sims 3 -- Electronic Arts' groomed and gussied-up digital dollhouse -- is intrepid and wonderful. Wonderful, because it's finally the game the original aspired to be, a sprawling valley-sized slice of virtual reality that's yours to tinker with entirely, no longer hemmed in by invisible barriers or repetitious characters. Intrepid, because its decked-out catalog of deceptively mundane activities illustrates even better how a game where you "tinker with the uneventful" can be so much more eventful than others conventionally packed with explosions, aliens, and magic swords.
Surprisingly, EA didn't mess with core series values, but then, it didn't have to. When your premise hasn't changed ("strategic life simulation") the writing's on the wall: Give your base an order of magnitude more to fiddle with, pretty it up, and make all that "extra" even easier to manipulate. Because it does, The Sims 3 represents a triumph of synthesis and style, an evolutionary leap rooted in progressive customizability, a gracefully architected interface, and several strikingly deep creative tools.
Want the year's most compulsively playable, demographically far-flung PC game? You've found it.

Samsung Edges out Sony Ericsson in Megapixel Race
Hey, guys! Check this hottest news from Samsung Company.
Introducing the Samsung Pixon 12
Samsung launched on Monday the Pixon12, the company's first touchscreen phone with a 12-megapixel camera.
The long-rumored phone follows in the footsteps of the Sony Ericsson Satio, which also comes equipped with a 12-megapixel camera. But the Samsung phone will be the first to hit the market when it ships in some parts of Europe by the end of June.
Sony Ericsson, on the other hand, will start shipping the Satio in the beginning of the fourth quarter.
Losing that first-to-market advantage will be frustrating for Sony Ericsson, according to a research note from CCS Insight, which said that the megapixel race appears to be slowing down.
The Pixon12 also has a Xenon flash and Touch Auto-Focus tracking, which lets the user select the focus point with the touch of a finger, after which the phone automatically follows the object. It features fast-image saving, so users should be able to take next photo within about two seconds, according to a statement from Samsung.
Both images and videos -- which the Pixon12 records with 720 by 480 resolution at 30 frames per second -- can be uploaded to social-networking sites such as Facebook, Picasa, Flickr, MySpace, Photobucket, and Friendster, Samsung said. Images are stored on a 16G byte MicroSD card.
Besides a camera it has some other fairly standard features, including a 3.1-inch display, GPS and an FM radio. Users can surf the net using HSPA (High-Speed Packet Access) or Wi-Fi.
Pricing hasn't been announced.
